I am a regular contributor here, as well as a temporary and only active sysop. My temporary sysopship is gonna expire in next month. In my last 2 months of sysopship I have done many works to favor of this project. Such as, creating system message, project and help pages etc. I am also the user with highest edit count in this project. You may found my current edit count here. Maybe needless to say but I'm also a regular contributor in Bengali Wikipedia, where I have over 7500 edits. - Why you think you need permanent sysop status to perform the tasks at this project? For particular which tasks you need the sysop status right now? You have couple of weeks, So please mention the pending tasks and your plan to accomplish them.--Bellayet ১১:৪৯, ২০ জানুয়ারি ২০১০ (UTC)
- Thanks for your questions. Firstly, every wiki need a regular sysop to take care of various tasks. You may have known that sometimes users post here encyclopedic article (i.e. Rabindranath Tagore), this project need to delete this type of contents. I have already perform this kind of tasks several times. You can find it in my deletion log. Secondly, as a start type project it needs regular maintenance. Maybe you already saw the bug i've reported, the mediawiki:edittools i added to write here smoothly, and a mediawiki:sitenotice to help the newbies. This tasks need edit or create system messages, and that's why this project need a sysop. I've already done some of these, and like to do it in future, so i like to be a permanent admin. Thirdly, a important question, the particular task i need to do as a admin.... yes, the task is upload and template related. This project's media upload link isn't too proper. It needs work like creating new tag templates and protect them. Bengali Wiktionary has a great lacks of base template and yes, there's no need to be a sysop to create those, but it need to protect those. Hi Tanvir, I am sure you've done some of sysop tasks. The tasks you've mentioned here, all of there are possible to perform as a temporary sysop. According to your edit count your contributions on the content of the wiki not that much and the total number of content in this wiki is also so less to ask for the permanent rights. So I don't think the wiki need a permanent sysop to perform the maintenance work with this less number of content right now. The wiki doesn't have that much content and the contributor, so the priority should be doing rich the wiki with enough contents and the increase the number of contributor. With the growing number of content and contributor, more admin tasks need to be performed then. In present state of the wiki need less number of sysop. I am suggesting you to concentrate on the content. And you can performed all required sysop tasks with a temporary sysop. So please ask for that and try to concentrate on content and contributors. 3 months time is not a small time. After 2 or 3 times to be a 3 months temporary sysop you'll have more confident to become a permanent sysop. So don't hesitate to ask for the temporary sysop if the site need that till you achieve the confident.--Bellayet ০৪:১২, ৩১ জানুয়ারি ২০১০ (UTC)
